To family and friends,
On behalf of my sisters I would like to thank all of you who have shared with us your thoughts, prayers, donations, time and love for our mother and our family.
The death of our mother was not a surprise but no one is completely prepared for the loss of the center of strength in a family and our mother was our center of strength.
I want to share with each and everyone that she was active and her mind was strong to her final weeks of life. She sewed as best as 95 year old eyes could sew. She washed dishes every night and believed that was still her job in life. She loved the Animal planet T.V. show and was still on the phone giving advice to individuals on cooking and raising children. She asked about everyone and she often asked me to dial phone numbers so she could touch base with her Colorado friends and relatives and her New Mexico family. She listened to the news everyday and was excited about the presidential election and watched President Obama’s news conferences and commented on his administrative appointments. In fact, when Associated Justice Sonia Soto mayor was appointed to the Supreme Court she said “Celina, we have a chance now to be heard”. Cecelia and I will miss our mother but we know she is with our father Robert and they are laughing and dancing together. We are happy for them and we share our deepest appreciation for all of you who have helped us through our time of loss.
