To family and friends,
To family and friends,
On behalf of my sisters I would like to thank all of you who have shared with us your thoughts, prayers, donations, time and love for our mother and our family.
The death of our mother was not a surprise but no one is completely prepared for the loss of the center of strength in a family and our mother was our center of strength.
I want to share with each and everyone that she was active and her mind was strong to her final weeks of life. She sewed as best as 95 year old eyes could sew. She washed dishes every night and believed that was still her job in life. She loved the Animal planet T.V. show and was still on the phone giving advice to individuals on cooking and raising children. She asked about everyone and she often asked me to dial phone numbers so she could touch base with her Colorado friends and relatives and her New Mexico family. She listened to the news everyday and was excited about the presidential election and watched President Obama’s news

To the family of Alice Garcia ...
To the family of Alice Garcia and especially Celina & Cecelia:
Please accept my condolences and sympathy during this difficult time on the passing
of your darling Alice Garcia.
I had the opportunity to meet Ms. Garcia one time at a CDOT function and the moment I met her I knew she was one very unique and beautiful woman inside and out, just full of life and wisdom and I could see the love in her eyes that she had for her girls (Celina & Cecelia). Each time I have spoken with Celina or Cecelia your conversations have always centered on the love you have for your mama. I know this is going to be an extremely difficult time for the both of you and for your family. Hold on to the memories you have of her. She was your rock and the center of your lives and I am sure she is so proud of you for taking care of her and for the marvelous women you have become. The bible says, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for a friend”. (John 15:13) The both of you

It was with great sadness ...
It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Alice Garcia. I grew up knowing Alice and the girls. She was a tower of strength and always took such immense pride in her wonderful family. She was a role model for hard work, understanding and love. I know that her legacy will live on forever with the family she left behind and the guidance and love she provided which have shaped the remarkable lives of those she touched. My deepest sympathies to all who loved Alice and will miss her.

In loving memory of Alice Garcia
Dear friends,
Please accept my sincere condolences on you Mrs. Garcia’s passing. I have worked closely with Celina and Cecelia at CDOT for many years but also through our Denver community for even more.
My fondest memories of Alice Garcia were during performances at El Centro Su Teatro. I could always count on Mrs. Garcia attending one of my performances and sitting in the first row. Her sweet smile and laughs always made my performance better...and she was never shy about giving us feedback about our performances. I’ll miss her in that front row at our next performance.
I also will cherish my memories of seeing the beautiful clothes that her daughters would wear to work made by the loving hands of their mother. How proud they always were to wear the carefully stitched dresses, made especially with her unique designs. I’m sure she’s found a sewing machine in heaven and is buy fitting the angels with beautiful new wings!
Con Carino,
Your friend Debra Gallegos

Auntie - I will miss you.
Auntie -- I will miss you. I think back when I first got married, our talks on how to cook for my husband. You helped me so much with that, I remember when you laughed when I found the stuff in the cavity of that thawed turkey and how I gagged over the phone or when I could not make my tortillas round and gave up. I cried and you told me I would get better the more I made them, I never got better and I buy them. How sad. My boys will miss you, they never did anything wrong in your eyes and you were perfect to them. You are with your True Love now auntie and your parents, sister and brothers, my mom and Stephen. I love you and I will cherish my pot holders and the bibs you made my boys. Thank you for YOU all these years. I love you.

Alice’s life and passing
I’m sorry to hear about Alice’s passing. I want to share some information about how we are related so it doesn’t get lost with some of the children. I was most familiar with Filomena and Lawrence and also new Priscilla. We new that we were distantly related but never paid much attention to that. My mother Frances Marquez was also a Crespin through her mother from the Las Vegas area but better know as “Los Vigiles” which was just east of Montezuma. Montezuma used to be the seminary where men from Mexico came to study for the priesthood. On my mother’s side, she was a cousin of your grandpa, Francisco Crespin and she was very close to both your grandma and grandfather. Your grandmother, Mariquita, used to come over to our house every year just before Christmas to make Biscochito dough, which is a very fond memory. A very New Mexico recipe with a lot of anise. Sometime they would see each other at the “old fashioned” dances that my dad, Hilario Marquez, used to make at different

In Loving Memory of Your Mama,
Dear Cecelia and Celina and the Crespin Family:
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for the passing away of your Mama. I only met Mama Alice a few times when Cecelia would bring her to ITQ LATA, but I never forgot her for she had such a sweet sweet spirit. It is with an abundance of love I sent this to your family. Oh what a blessing from God you had in your Mama. May God Himself welcome her with open arms, for she is truly a beautiful person. Always remember she lives in your heart, I don’t just say this, I found out it is actually true. Love Ro
